Funny I also didn't know you could use it instead of lemon to keep artichokes from darkening, nice way to learn from eachother!
I like the old postcards from foreign cultures, like the "marchands d'orange", it helps me to understand how it all began.
Thanx for your reaction.erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06936665894936003912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666608618203313684.post-61830469988731125372012-03-14T22:16:36.664+01:002012-03-14T22:16:36.664+01:00Yayy, I'm glad my google translator bar is bac...Yayy, I'm glad my google translator bar is back.

I can tell that the painting of "Les marchands d'orange" must have been related to Morocco.

Your article, as usual is very constructive.

Here, we call naranje the bitter orange, which I suppose is called cerdat in French. We brine chicken with it to get rid of bad smell (along with sea salt, water and vinegar).
Also, when my mother is cleaning the artichokes, she rubs them with naranj so they don't go dark then she dips them in water, especially when lemons become expensive and cedrat is free (trees in the streets of many cities here).

I'm an orange lover, actually all citrus for that matter. So this cake is talking to me...I shall save the recipe :)Nadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04300243148535752612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8666608618203313684.post-28170430756179102382012-02-08T22:50:39.786+01:002012-02-08T22:50:39.786+01:00Hi Ivana,
